Family Worship: June 2-8, 2024
Week Ending June 8, 2024
Parents, especially fathers, are called to raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Deut. 6:7; Eph. 6:4). One aspect of this calling is to lead your family in family worship faithfully. There are many ways to do that. Below are some suggested family readings and topics of conversation.
~Lord’s Day, June 2~
Read 1 Tim. 1:1-11. Who is the author of this epistle, and who is the recipient? Why is that important? Discuss the various charges Paul gives in 1 Tim. 1:3-4
~Monday, June 3~
Read Hosea 12-14. Discuss the historical illustration Hosea mentions in 12:7-14. Discuss the reasons he does that at this point in the prophecy.
~Tuesday, June 4~
Read 1 Tim. 1:1-11. Discuss the basis of his charges to Timothy (1:5). Why is that important? Discuss the types of people described in 1:6-7
~Wednesday, June 5~
Read Hosea 12-14. Discuss the various judgments that Jehovah makes against the people of old. Discuss how those items appear in our culture and church today.
~Thursday, June 6~
Read 1 Tim. 1:1-11. What is the subject of 1:8-11? Discuss the importance of the moral law in the church today. Discuss the “three uses” of the law.
~Friday, June 7~
Read Hosea 12-14. Discuss the plea made by Jehovah to his covenant people. What are the specifics? What commitments does God make to his people?
~Saturday, June 8~
Prepare for worship this Lord’s Day by reading and discussing the Sermon Text. Use the “Worship Preparation Guide” sent out by the Pastor.
