Daily Prayer for October 6, 2020

Prayer: Father, we come to you today as your children knowing that as our Father, you are able and ready to help us. You have told us to cast our cares upon you, and that is what we are doing when we pray and plead with you for all that we need in our lives. In prayer, we express our complete dependence on you for life. It is you that gives us the air that we breathe. It is you that determines the number of beats of our heart. It is you that provides for us our daily bread. We thank you for giving us all that we need and supplying us we things that allow us to enjoy this life that you have granted to us. We thank you for giving us that which we do not deserve. We praise you for our families and friends. We are grateful for the church and the fellowship of your people. We are a people that are blessed beyond measure. We ask that you would be pleased to pour out more blessings on your church -- purifying and perfecting her to the glory of your name. We ask that you would guide your ministers and help them as they labor in your Word, knowing that through the ordinary means of grace, you build your church and strengthen your people. Help us, Father, to love the king and head of the church and serve him all of our days. We pray this in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
