Daily Prayer for December 17, 2021
Prayer: Our Father in heaven, you are holy, and your Word tells us to be holy as you are holy. We thank you that you are a God who can do no wrong. We praise you that your providence, though mysterious to us, always works for the good of your church and the glory of your name. Yet, there are times when we doubt and question the work of your hands. We confess that there are times when we struggle to understand what you are doing. We know that you have told us that all things work together for good for those who love you. Yet, we still wrestle deeply with the circumstances of our life. We know that we are told to trust you and lean upon you with all of our hearts. We confess that we have limited vision and limited understanding. Therefore, holy Father, please give us more faith and more trust in you as you have revealed yourself in your Word. Please grant us a better understanding of your divine purpose and rest in your eternal love for us. Though there will be times when you will bring us through the storms of this life, please grant us a better grasp of your goodness and mercy that will never let us go. Thank you for being patient with us and for forgiving us through the work of your beloved Son.
We pray for the world in which we live, and the many issues present all around us. We pray for our leaders that you would open their eyes to the truth of your Word. We pray that you would prevent them from committing wicked acts towards your church. We pray that you would use them as instruments of righteousness in a dark and decaying world. Please rescue their souls by opening their eyes and ears to the One who alone saves we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
