Daily Prayer for November 28, 2020

Prayer: Our great God in heaven, your name is holy and, therefore, we reverently bow before your throne today to praise you and commune with you. We thank you that we can enter into the Most Holy Place where your glory dwells at any time, day or night. Because of the work of Christ, we no longer need a human priest from the tribe of Levi. Instead, we have the Lion from the tribe of Judah who, after the order of Melchizadek, did all that was necessary to secure our access to you. We thank you that we have a sympathetic High Priest who understands our sufferings and trials of this life. We are grateful that we may come boldly to you to set all of our needs before you. Yet, as we come, we confess our sins of the heart, mind, and action. We know that due to indwelling sin -- sin that remains in the inner recesses of our hearts -- we transgress your law. We hate and grieve that fact. We long to be holy as you are holy and pray that you would help us to live in a manner worthy of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Please grant us the Holy Spirit that we may live as you have commanded. We pray all of this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Scripture Meditation: Heb.4:14-16; Eph. 4:1-3; 1 Pet. 1:13-16
